Conor McGregor Welcomes Floyd Mayweather Following Workout for Pacquiao Camp

As Floyd Mayweather gears up for his comeback, an old nemesis steps forward with a surprising message of support. It's none other than Conor McGregor.
The video in question had Mayweather working with his son, Roger Mayweather. The UFC champion seemed delighted with Mayweather's comeback and expressed his encouragement with the comment, "Welcome home, Floyd!"
The boxing world is buzzing right now with the news that its undisputed king, Floyd Mayweather, is returning. After announcing his comeback, Mayweather has been spending a lot of time in the gym to prepare for his next exhibition bout and his eventual comeback.
The comeback announcement was made right after his exhibition bout with the legendary Mike Tyson was announced, which will be held in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa, on April 25.
In an official statement to ESPN, Mayweather said, “I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing, from my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards."
Floyd Mayweather has been away from professional boxing since August 2017 after defeating Conor McGregor in a professional crossover boxing match by a technical knockout. On February 21, he announced that he would be coming out of retirement.
This would be his fourth comeback, having previously retired in 2007, 2015, and 2017.
Floyd Mayweather will have a busy 2026
Mayweather has been active only in exhibition matches since his retirement, but now it seems 2026 will see him fight in a main event. Right after the news of his comeback circulated throughout the media, his next major bout was announced immediately.
Besides facing Tyson in April, Mayweather will also fight Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao in a professional rematch on September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The rematch will be the sequel to their 2015 'Fight of the Century', which remains the richest bout in boxing history.
It generated $6 million in pay-per-view buys and also set a world-record live gate of $72 million at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
