Cristiano Ronaldo Uncovered Secrets Behind His Ripped Physique at 40
"I don't believe it's so good," Cristano Ronald said when his Whoop test showed his "phisiological" age to be just 28.9 years, almost 12 years younger than his actual age. After learning about the result, he jokingly said, “So does this mean that I'm going to play 10 years more football?”
Jokes aside, there's a good reason behind CR7's impressive Whoop Age. To maintain an elite-level performance, he follows several things in his day-to-day life that contribute to his overall fitness. Let’s see what the "Al Nassr star" is saying.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s daily routine
In May 2025, Ronaldo appeared on WHOOP's YouTube channel, and the host revealed that he is “getting on average 17,000 steps a day." That's not surprising considering the amount of training CR7 gets regularly.
Cristiano Ronald also said that he usually gets 7 hours of quality sleep from around 11 or 12 to 8:30. It helps his brain function better. "I prioritize recovery and sleeping," said the Portuguese National Team captain.
He further added, "I take care a lot of my recovery because I think the way you're training, if you're training 2 hours, you have to recover two hours. If you're training 3 hours, you have to recover 3 hours."

Every week, Ronaldo dedicates 10 hours to training. Yet, he also believes that too much training is unhealthy and balance in life is necessary. “Don't overstress your body too because too much sport is not good too so you have to find the balance,” he added.
According to him, everybody must train themself but within their limits. “I think you have to take care a little bit of your body, but without obsession, if you start today you're going to have benefits in the future," Cristiano Ronaldo said in the video.
He further said, “focus your priorities... The most important thing is to have a routine, consistency, not obsession.”
Although Ronaldo didn't mention anything about his diet on the Whoop podcast, everyone knows exercise is just one part of an athlete's fitness regime. That is why we are giving you a glimpse into his diet habits.
CR7's diet
Besides his daily activities and training, another thing that helps maintain his fitness is his diet. He consumes a high-protein diet, which acts as a fuel for his body during matches.
On May 23, 2025, Men’s Health published an article by quoting Ronaldo’s statement, “If you train regularly, it’s important to keep energy levels high to fuel your body for better performance.” His diet includes carbs from whole grains, fresh veggies, and fruits.
His usual breakfast includes ham, avocado toast, cheese, and low-fat yoghurt. “I sometimes eat up to six smaller meals a day to make sure I have enough energy to perform each session at top level,” Ronaldo said. Hydration also plays a key role in his daily routine, as it helps with nutrient absorption while playing.
