Danica Patrick shows off gym transformation at 44 in new photo
Danica Patrick is proving that 44 is just a number. The former IndyCar star recently showcased her intense gym transformation on Instagram. The reveal comes as she prepares for her FOX Sports broadcasting role at this weekend's Indianapolis 500.
Patrick posted a carousel of stunning pictures from the qualifying weekend on her Instagram account around 2 days ago, when she looked in the best shape of her life.
The comments were full of praise for the former NASCAR and IndyCar driver. In the pictures, her transformation was very visible, especially the toned arms.
Take a look at her post here:
Patrick had once shared, "I learned you can change the size of your body with cardio, but you'll never change the shape of your body without adding weights to your exercise routine." And that showed in her recent pictures.
Patrick has kept a very disciplined routine despite retiring from full-time racing in 2018. Her workout has always evolved into a cardio-heavy approach, unlike the strength-based structure she had before.
The Wisconsin native hits the gym five times a week and follows intense HIIT sessions, including compound lifts and weighted pullups without any form of assistance!
On May 24th, she will be joined by host Chris Myers, Tom Rinaldi, and fellow former NASCAR driver and 1997 IndyCar champion Tony Stewart for pre-race coverage and the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500.
This Indy 500 role marks Patrick's return to the spotlight after she exited from Sky Sports. Her departure in 2021 was her own decision:
"I called after the last race in 2025 and said it was time for me to move on, and I was so grateful for the opportunity and experience I was given," according to GPfansCrash.net.
The 110th Indianapolis 500 airs Sunday, May 24, on FOX. Pre-race coverage begins at 10 a.m. ET, with the first lap scheduled for 12:45 p.m. ET.
It has been well established that workouts alone can't meet one's fitness needs and goals, so let us take a look at Danica Patrick's dietary changes!
Danica Patrick's Diet: From Paleo Pescatarian to Animal-Based Eating
During the early days of her career, Danica Patrick followed a Paleo pescatarian diet, focusing on clean, nutrient-rich foods.
According to 24 Hour Fitness, she once admitted that “Nutrition has everything to do with feeling good, not just looking good. Eating right makes you function and feel better.”
Her diet helped her to maintain overall well-being, which was mainly comprised of:
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Nuts
- Seeds
- Fish
- Eggs
Recently, Patrick's diet has been modified to meet her needs. According to The Spun, she said she now eats fewer fruits and vegetables and follows a more animal-based diet.
Her meals are now high in protein, and her breakfast, according to her Instagram post, looks like a lot of eggs! “Breakfast on the go is always – 5 eggs… It’s 35 grams of protein and 25 grams of fat. Perfect.”
So it is understandable that diet and nutritional approaches can change with the years and according to one's needs!
Which diet are you more inclined to, Paleo-style or more of an animal-based diet?
