Six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates has aged like fine wine and continues to shock the younger generation of bodybuilders even at the age of 63.

Just a few days ago, the former Mr. Olympia took to his Instagram account to attack his hamstrings, showcasing why he possessed some of the best legs of his era.

“Showing the youngsters how it’s done. Playing about with a full stack on the seated leg curl machine, nice and easy, 20 reps. Hamstrings have still got it,” captioned Dorian Yates in his Instagram post.

Yates made 20 repetitions look effortless, but in reality, hitting 20 reps with the weights he used takes a heavy toll on the physique. He has long advocated for a failure-based training approach. He adopted this system after trained alongside Mike Mentzer.

However, when it comes to training the legs, he believes that 15–20 reps is the absolute best range. "Up to 15, I think, is ideal for your legs. Hamstrings, you can go heavier with lower reps because they are explosive, eight reps on them. Calves, yeah 10-12," shared Dorian Yates on his Instagram a year back.

He further added, “With the upper body, you usually come to a fairly sudden stop when approaching failure. But with legs, you can squeeze another, and another, and another. Those who have ever trained legs with me know all about the 'two more reps”

His recent hamstring destruction caught the attention of the masses, who couldn’t help but respect the veteran.
