Dorian Yates Recalls Doing 405 Lbs Incline Bench Press While Confirming His East Coast Mecca Appearance

Six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates gave fans a look into his past.
Yates shared a rare 1993 photo of a 405-pound incline bench press. Yates also confirmed an upcoming appearance at a legendary New York gym.
Recently, Yates took to his Instagram handle to share a chapter from his past that had remained hidden for years. Sharing a photo of himself bench pressing, he captioned, “Here’s a rare one! From 1993, I believe, here at Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym in New York.”
He further added, “I first met Steve and Bev back in the early 1990s and trained at the gym when I was over in the States. I used to bring Steve backstage to help me out before the contests, too! So yeah, here with Steve, having a play about with 405lbs on the incline bench press!”
Dorian Yates shared a montage of his life on his social media, but that wasn’t all; he also had a message for his fans: “I’ll be coming over later this year to the East Coast Mecca for their 40th anniversary, stay tuned!”
Well, want to meet him? Then it’s better to make your way to the East Coast Mecca. In addition, Yates, in another confession, stated that modern bodybuilders might be weaker.
Dorian Yates Believe Men Are Weak These Days
In an Instagram reel, Yates highlighted that today’s men appear weak, “What do I think about the current generation? Well, I think they are weak and soft. Maybe it’s not their fault because of the environment. Maybe I’m softer than the generation before me because things are too comfortable now.”
Yates believes that men need to face more challenges in life to develop the strength seen in the olden days. “You got to get strong for the future, for yourselves, and for your families. You need to have some stress in your life. Challenge yourself, and go to the gym, push yourself, and you will feel so much better,” said Yates.
Given that, what is your opinion on his confession? State your thoughts in the comments below.
