Drew McIntyre’s WWE Training Blueprint: Here's How the Undisputed Champion Builds Raw Power

Despite the WWE's scripted nature, performers like Drew McIntyre require immense strength to execute the in-ring moves effectively. And acquiring such power isn't possible without working out.
Before the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble, Scott “Future” Felstead from Muscle & Fitness had the opportunity to train alongside Drew McIntyre at the noted boxer Anthony Joshua’s facility, BXR Gym 9, in London.
The reigning WWE Champion follows an EMOM workout method, which stands for Every Minute On the Minute. This is a HIIT training format in which each exercise is performed for 30 seconds, followed by a 30-second rest. It is succeeded by the next workout on the list.
Here are some of the vital exercises in McIntyre's training regimen:
- Planks
- TRX low row
- Goblet squats
- Bicep curls
- Dumbbell seated shoulder press
- Weighted plate Russian twists
- Dumbbell Bulgarian split squat
- Lying dumbbell chest press
However, the WWE is a thoroughly unexpected avenue where anything can happen. Hence, to condition his body for anything that might come his way, McIntyre follows a specific approach while training.
Time doesn’t exist for Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre trains himself with no time limit and pushes himself to the extreme to prepare his body for the extreme situations that might arise inside the WWE ring.
Whenever Felstead slowed down while training, McIntyre motivated him, saying, "more, more!" Additionally, 'The Chosen One' also said, 'Time doesn't exist' when Felstead asked about how much more he needed to continue.
So, counting reps or checking the watch for time is not a concept in WWE Undisputed Champion Drew McIntyre’s book.
While this process works for McIntyre, do you think it can be beneficial for others as well?
