Dwayne Johnson gets tagged the ‘final boss’ as 8X Mr. Olympia hails the WWE icon’s physique
WWE star Dwayne Johnson is no stranger to tough workouts, but one recent session has drawn a special reaction. What made this clip stand out even more was the man watching it.
Eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman shared a reel of Dwayne Johnson’s workout on his Instagram account. The bodybuilding legend praised the WWE star’s physique, dubbed him the “Final Boss,” and highlighted his walking lunges.
“Final Boss!! My boy @therock showing you all how those walking lunges supposed to be done....Yeah Buddy,” Ronnie Coleman wrote in the caption on Instagram.

The workout itself showed Johnson pushing through the tough session, with the WWE star keeping the mood light along the way.
“I’m trying to get my a** kicked. Ain’t nothing but a peanut... Yeah, buddy,” Dwayne Johnson said in the Instagram reel shared by @ronniecoleman8.
The “Final Boss” tag has become closely associated with Dwayne Johnson’s WWE persona. He embraced the moniker during his more aggressive run around the WrestleMania XL era, with WWE itself referring to him as “The Final Boss” during the event.
The reference was even more fitting in the reel, as Johnson was wearing a tank top with “Final Boss” written on it while doing the walking lunges. So, Coleman’s caption also matched the look Johnson brought to the workout.
Coleman’s praise is also important because of his own bodybuilding career. He won eight straight Mr. Olympia titles from 1998 to 2005, making him one of the biggest names in bodybuilding. That makes his praise for Johnson’s physique and walking lunges even more notable.
Coleman’s reaction added more to the moment, with Johnson’s WWE persona and his approach to the workout coming together naturally in the clip.
While Coleman focused on Johnson’s performance in the recent clip, his walking lunges have been part of the WWE star’s training routine for years.
Dwayne Johnson’s walking lunges are a regular part of his routine
According to Gaspari Nutrition, Dwayne Johnson follows a six-day workout routine, with two days dedicated to his legs. His routine includes several lower-body exercises, such as barbell walking lunges, which appear on both leg days.
“Barbell Walking Lunge – 4 sets x25 reps,” Gaspari Nutrition noted.
The exercise appears on both Day 1 and Day 5 of the routine. His leg sessions also include leg presses, leg extensions, squats, hack squats, Romanian deadlifts, seated leg curls, and thigh abductors.
The routine also includes 30-50 minutes of running outside or on a treadmill before weight training. With walking lunges already part of Johnson’s routine, Coleman’s recent praise for the exercise fits naturally with the WWE star’s established training approach.
Johnson’s latest workout shows the consistency behind his fitness routine, while his long-standing approach to training continues to keep his physique in the spotlight.
