8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman Shares the Right Mindset to Train Chest

The eight-time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman, loves sharing clips from his prime years, inspiring fitness enthusiasts to spend more time in the gym. In a recent Instagram post, the bodybuilding legend gave fans a look at what one of his chest workouts looks like.

"You’ve got to get your mind right for the last set on chest day."

That was the caption of the reel, which showed him bench pressing a staggering 475 kg during the workout. The feat reminded fans why he remains one of the strongest athletes in bodybuilding history.

He completed the five reps like it was nothing. But it's not just about lifting massive weights, Ronnie’s message is clear: real progress starts with the right mentality. This set was only one component of his high-intensity routine.

Jesse James West Tried Ronnie Coleman’s Chest Workout

In 2023, YouTuber Jesse James West got the chance to spend some time with the King in the gym and try out his chest workout. And by the end of it, West had given up on everything, according to Philip Ellis of Men's Health.

The workout started with bench press exercises, including a flat bench and a barbell. Other exercises included incline bench press, and finally ended with a pair of dumbbells.

During the session, Coleman taught the young YouTuber many things about fitness and training, including tips on how to prepare for the competition.

According to Coleman, switching to lighter weights during workouts and ensuring to get enough protein is the key to winning any bodybuilding competition.

Talking about his passion for fitness, Coleman says, "Favorite thing in all my life. As long as you've got passion, you'll never work a day in your life."

He added that even after crossing the sixties, he makes sure to train every day and spend at least 45 minutes in the gym. He said that it is something he will continue till the end of his life.
