Ronnie Coleman ate roughly 6000 calroies durning his prime as Mr. Olympia. While those days are long gone, the bodybuilding icon shared his "secret recipe" that would help anyone preparing for a bodybuilding show.
"Nothin' better than some good ole steak and potato!! Here is my secret recipe I used while dieting for the Mr Olympia… Yeah, Buddy!" Coleman captioned his January 8 Instagram reel.
While cooking the potatoes, Ronnie Coleman explained, “I'm gonna clean these up real good and nice so they be real nice, fresh and clean. And then I'm gonna wrap them up real good in some aluminum foil so they cook up real nice and good here,"
While the potatoes baked for an hour, he moved on to the steak. “Alright, guys, my steak routine is very simple. All I do is put the steak, my ribeye steak, right here, on the plate, get them seasoned up real good with a little salt,"
After seasoning the steaks, Ronnie Coleman cooked them on his grill. And that was it. Instead of mashed potatoes with cream or cheese, Coleman kept it clean. However, this isn't his only simple recipe.
How Ronnie Coleman Ate Chicken
Chicken is a great source of lean protein, and to no one's surprise, it was a staple for Coleman during his bodybuilding career. So in 2024, Coleman shared his "Secret Good Ol' Chicken" recipe.
YouTube channel, Big Ron shared his recipe for “Good Ol Chicken”. The recipe was similar to the steak recipe, as Coleman washed the chicken, seasoned it with salt, and cooked it on the grill.
However, it was the barbecue sauce Coleman added after grilling the chicken that made the biggest difference in this dish. “Whatever you do, don't forget that barbecue sauce, good ol' flavoring,” added Ronnie Coleman.
The former Arnold Classic winner paired the chicken up with some white rice, only adding some Molly Cheese powder to give it some flavor.
"This is one of my favorite meals of the day, next to the steak," said Ronnie Coleman.
