80-Year-Old Ernie Hudson Discusses His Son Being His Personal Trainer & Fitness Routine
At 80, Ernie Hudson, the Ghostbusters actor, maintains an incredible physique through a specific workout routine.
Interestingly, it is his son, Ernie Hudson Jr., who often guides or trains him on this journey.
On June 22, the Instagram account of Men's Health shared the story of Hudson with the caption, “There's nothing like going to the gym with your son, especially when your son is your trainer.”
In the clip, Hudson was seen saying, “I'm at home; I have a trainer there two or three times a week. But if I'm on the road or if I'm in New York, my trainer is my son, Ernest, who knows everything about fitness that I will never know or want to know.”
Ernie Jr. appeared in many TV shows and films from the 1980s to the 2000s and played a recurring role in Oz, where he appeared with his father as inmate Hamid Khan.
Apart from that, he has a strong background as a fitness professional and holds a master's degree in exercise science. So, he knows how to train his father.
However, with humor, Hudson admitted that he no longer works out with his son because “he embarrasses me with as much weight as he pushes around”.
Over the years, Hudson understood the importance of tuning in to his physique and paying attention to what his body needs.
He once admitted to Men's Health,
“You just have to quiet your mind enough to listen”.
And this is his current philosophy of fitness, and as the 80-year-old actor said, his current goal is just to stay alive.
During the interview with Men's Health, Hudson and his son guided fans through the actor’s upper-body workout.
