Ellen Burstyn, 93, Reveals How She Keeps Herself Fit & Healthy With Simple Methods- “Walk My Doggies”
At 93, Ellen Burstyn is still fit and healthy, and her approach to that is surprisingly simple.
The Exorcist star appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark, and made a surprising revelation that, despite being in her 90s, she still follows an active training routine.
"I walk my doggies. I read an awful lot. I go to concerts. I play with my friends, have people over,"
The veteran actress, who has had a decades-long, glorious career, recently opened up about the secrets to maintaining her health, and they are quite simple. Rather than relying on complex regimens, Burstyn follows a consistent, everyday routine that is the foundation of her lifestyle, or as she said, "That's how you get to be 93 and still kicking."
One of her daily methods is walking. She shared that she regularly walks around Central Park in New York City, often with her dogs, which even got host Kelly Ripa excited to see if she can spot her next time both of them are there, to which Burstyn jokingly replied, "You can't miss me, I'm in a giant sunhat, like in a comically large sunhat."

And her routine is not limited to just exercising; her diet plays a crucial role, too. Burstyn is a vegetarian and also refrains from alcohol and smoking, and it is something she says has helped her reach 93.
Even in her 90s, Burstyn has a busy schedule, but even in the midst of her projects, she ensures to find days to give her body a good rest. She calls them "shouldless days."
But in addition to physical health, mental and emotional health are her greatest priorities. Before her training and work, Burstyn starts her day with gratitude,
"I try to have the first words out of my mouth be, 'Thank you.' Thank you that I'm alive. Thank you that I'm safe. Thank you that I'm healthy. Thank you that I'm 90 and still going. Thank you for my doggies. I mean, I have a lot to live in a state of gratitude for."
With keeping her health and fitness in check, what being 93 is really like for Burstyn?'
How Does Burstyn Feel About Her 90s?
During her interview with Belief Net, Ellen Burstyn got candid about how she is navigating her 90s.
I feel, first of all, very, very blessed that I’m healthy. I was talking to a doctor recently who said, “Your age is not how long you’ve been on the planet, your age is how healthy you are.” So, I am 73, but I would say, if I go by my health, that I’m 50.
Burstyn’s resilience proves that vitality is defined by health rather than years. Being health-conscious and having a positive mindset, she continues to navigate her 90’s with remarkable grace and mobility.
