Ex-US Navy Woman Reveals Fitness Tricks She Used on Duty

Katie Salerni, aka KatyLiftiz, never misses a workout, even while clocking long Navy hours. The American bench press record holder thrives in chaos despite unpredictable duty schedules. But how does she train while onboard?

On July 4th, the ex-Navy officer took to her Instagram handle to answer the question, “How did you stay fit in the Navy?”

In the video, she starts by doing deadlifts with a makeshift bar and water-filled canisters, followed by another deadlift regime where she lifts her colleague. She captions it, “By not making excuses, adapt and overcome.”

And of course, she used the weight room and gym equipment to stay fit on the aircraft carrier as well. With a follower base of over 300K, she has been making real noise in the fitness industry.

We shouldn’t forget that she holds an American bench press record at 336 lbs, has won nationals multiple times, and placed third in the world for bench in Tokyo, Japan.

As someone who’s visibly shredded, she recently delivered a reality check on why the Skinnytok lifestyle is a bad idea.

US Navy Vet Alarms on SkinnyTok Trend

To sum it up, ‘SkinnyTok’ is a trend on TikTok where influencers advise people to stay as thin as possible to be ‘fit,’ but the reality is far from it. On February 7, KatyLiftz dropped a confession about how following this trend can literally cause brain damage.

“As someone who has had zero body fat, I cannot tell you enough how much these skinny talk influencers are suffering from literal brain damage. When I was super lean for my show, I could barely think a cohesive thought, and my memory was dog s***,” she highlighted.

She highlighted that staying slim is one thing, but following an unhealthy regimen can be drastic for one’s health. From her personal experience, she expressed that it’s better for people to stay far away from the trend.
