A 15-year-old is making waves in the powerlifting world. Bubba Pritchett, son of a strongman legend, recently posted a video of a staggering 700-pound deadlift. The feat has captured the attention of experts and fans alike.

This teenager is Bubba Pritchett, the son of World’s Strongest Man finalist and 2017 America's Strongest Man, Jerry Pritchett.

On April 2, Pritchett stunned the audience when he dropped a video on his Instagram, captioning “15yr deadlifts 700lbs 😱😱”

In the video, the teenager was seen wearing a weight belt and approaching the barbell in a sumo stance. He completed the 700 lb deadlift with the help of lifting straps, then dropped it on the floor.

In fact, he performed a 250 lb deadlift at age 9, and it increased to 275 lb when he turned 10. This isn't the first time he's gained attention for his strength.

On February 22, the 6’2″ posted a short video on his Instagram, captioning “World’s strongest teen??” In the video, he was seen pushing a 65,000lb fire truck for the Phoenix Fire Department and showcasing his strongman abilities.

The 300 lb teenager was also seen pulling a 25,000 lb semi truck at the age of 14.

Apart from deadlifting and pulling trucks, he can even walk a 805lb yoke, as seen in his social media videos. This shows that strong genes clearly run in the Pritchett family.

While Pritchett’s jaw-dropping strength earned widespread praise online, an exercise scientist’s reflection on his abilities offers an interesting perspective.

Dr. Mike Israetel Thought About Bubba Pritchett’s Strength and Debunking False Claims

On March 20, Dr. Mike Israetel featured on the YouTube channel called Renaissance Periodization. After seeing early deadlifts Bubba Pritchett did when he was 9, 10, and 11 years old, Dr. Israetel was stunned by his control and technique in performing the exercise.

Dr. Israetel debunks the claim that “lifting weights as a kid stunts growth by closing growth plates”. He said there is “Zero detectable relationship between youth lifting onset and height.”

Later in the video, when Pritchett performs a 470lb log clean and press, Israetel was completely amused and said, “It's wild.” He further explained that it was because he has access to many facilities, and that his father also plays a crucial role, as the teen is getting guidance from his dad.

Upon listening to the goal of winning the “World's Strongest Man to be the youngest dude at 17 years old,” Dr. Mike finds Bubba's specific goal quite inspirational. It shows his strong determination and zeal to become the top contender in the World Strongman competition.

So, Bubba Pritchett's hard work will definitely pay off, and he has a bright future ahead.
