Winning a Mr. Olympia title once is a massive feat in itself. However, the legends who manage to win it over and over again are simply on a whole different level.

There have just been a handful of great bodybuilders who have managed to win the Olympia title multiple times, ruling the stage for decades and building an unforgettable legacy.

Here are five legends who kept returning to the Olympia stage to win the title, changing the sport forever.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

For most people, the word “bodybuilding” is synonymous with Arnold Schwarzenegger. And why shouldn’t it be? The “Austrian Oak” won the Olympia title six consecutive times from 1970 to 1975, followed by a short hiatus. However, the beast was not done.

As per Muscle & Fitness, he resurfaced in 1980 after retirement, only to walk away with the Olympia title a seventh time.

It goes without saying that his 1980 Olympia win was one of the most controversial Mr. Olympia competitions to date.

Dorian Yates

Dorian Yates did not simply win the Mr. Olympia trophy also called Sandow); he dominated the Mr. Olympia stage for six consecutive years. His first title came in 1992 after dethroning eight-time champion Lee Haney. This became the beginning of an entirely new bodybuilding era.

During his reign, he outshone several stars like Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, and Kevin Levrone, cementing his legacy as “The Shadow”.

Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie Coleman certainly dominated the Olympia stage with his "Light weight, baby!" mindset – not once, but eight times! The legendary bodybuilder captured his first title in 1998 after defeating Flex Wheeler.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the icon had earned his place as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, even after he had long retired from the sport.

Jay Cutler

Someone finally had to end Ronnie Coleman’s reign over the Olympia stage, and who better to do it than Jay Cutler?

He won his first Olympia title in 2006, successfully defending it in 2007, and finally losing the crown in 2008 to Dexter Jackson. However, he was the first-ever bodybuilder to regain the Mr. Olympia crown after losing it.

In 2010, he added a fourth title by defeating rivals like Phil Heath, Branch Warren, and Victor Martinez, finally finishing his Olympia career.

Lee Haney

Lee Haney ruled over the Olympia stage from 1984 to 1991, winning the Olympia title eight consecutive times. He beat Mohamed Makkawy in his first Sandow and then went on to beat rivals like Lee Labrada, Vince Taylor, and Rich Gaspari.

Haney finally retired in 1991 after his eighth victory, ending his incredible undefeated career.
