5 Muscular Hollywood Men Above 70 Who Still Hit The Gym

These Hollywood icons, in their 70s and 80s, prove that age is just a number as they continue to hit the gym and maintain an inspiring physique. This list includes 5 silver-screen actors, from legendary Terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to Sylvester Stallone.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

The former governor of California and actor, Schwarzenegger, was born in 1947 and is currently 78 years old. He trains his body nearly every day with an adaptive routine that includes weight training and cycling. In fact, on April 17, he shared a post on his Instagram, captioning 

Arnold’s Pump Club is pulling up across the street from Gold’s Gym Venice with @live.momentous for a smoothie pop-up. Come by, grab a smoothie, and join the positive corner of the Internet.”

In the post, the father of four is seen doing machine preacher curls.

Lou Ferrigno

The veteran bodybuilder Ferrigno is currently 74 years old. According to Men’s Health, the Incredible Hulk actor follows an intense training routine in his seventies. His workout includes:

  • Warm-up session includes a treadmill walk or jog for 10 min 
  • Machine preacher curls (12 reps, 3 sets)
  • Machine chest press (12 reps, 3 sets)
  • Triceps kickback (8 to 12 reps each arm, 3 sets)
  • Alternating dumbbell curl (8 to 12 reps each arm, 3 sets)

Talking about bodybuilding, he even said, “The great thing about bodybuilding and fitness is that it gave me that discipline to do anything I want to do. Nothing holds me back. That made me a warrior and a fighter.”

Ernie Hudson

The 1945-born American actor stays jacked with a dedicated routine. According to Men’s Health, he trains 2 to 3 times a week with a trainer. He also shared his upper-body workout routine, which includes:

For a warm-up:

  • Squats to elevated plank
  • walkout

Workout exercises:

  • Push-ups
  • Barbell bench press
  • Triceps pressdowns
  • Seated row
  • Concentrated curls

The Ghostbusters actor said one needs to stay as flexible and mobile as possible as one gets older to reduce the risk of falling or stumbling. 

Harrison Ford

The last one on the list is the famous Indiana Jones franchise actor, Ford, who is 83 years old. According to GQ, during the fifth film of the Indiana Jones Franchise, he said: “I feel fit to continue and bring the same physical action.”

Ford trainer Jamie Milnes once revealed that to maintain athleticism, the actor works on building body conditioning, reflexes, and core strength using medicine balls and dumbbells. 

Apart from training, he follows a strict diet and said, “I am extremely rigorous with my meal plan. By eating healthy, I will be able to keep my physique like this for years to come.”

So, these actors showed that age doesn’t define one’s physical strength, but grit and determination do.

Sylvester Stallone

At 79, Sylvester Stallone still maintains a very impressive physique and follows an intense training routine, which includes:

  • Boxing
  • Push-ups
  • Sleds

He posted a video on his Instagram on January 18, captioning it “Every year it gets harder and harder, but that’s why you gotta push harder and harder. blood, sweat, and tears.” In the video, the actor was seen in a gym with a ceiling-mounted punching bag.
