Former US President Teddy Roosevelt’s Favorite Simple Breakfast Diet

Teddy Roosevelt hailed from simpler times, when breakfast options were limited. So he kept his breakfast habits quite straightforward.

The 26th President of the US did not eat expensive spreads or imported delicacies. He kept his meals simple and convenient, having hard-boiled eggs and homemade rolls.

But he had a certain way he liked his eggs. They had to be cooked until solid throughout. No medium or soft variation was accepted by him. And, the rolls had to be fresh and almost countless in number.

According to historical records, Roosevelt and his better half, Edith, ate the same breakfast every morning.

The rolls they had were known as Fat R****** and served with a generous amount of butter. According to the Takeout, there were rare occasions when Roosevelt ventured out of his comfort zone and had liver and bacon, or hominy, which is almost like grits, spiced up with salt, pepper, and butter.

Roosevelt has often been remembered as a person with endless energy; he relied heavily on sugar. As a matter of fact, his valet recalled another breakfast meal the 26th President often enjoyed: peaches and cream.

He would pile the dish so high that cream spilled over the sides, recalled Amos. Let's explore Roosevelt's choices and the reasons behind them!

Teddy Roosevelt Lived to 60 on Hard-Boiled Eggs, a Gallon of Coffee, and Wild Game Dinners

Teddy Roosevelt had one breakfast habit that started as a treatment for his childhood asthma. He was said to drink a gallon of coffee per day, starting with his breakfast, and to add a lot of sugar to it as well, according to AOL.

Roosevelt had an oversized coffee cup, which his son described as "more in the nature of a bathtub." He was a firm believer in having a hearty breakfast, and that did not change while recovering in the hospital after being shot. served three soft-boiled eggs,

"That's nothing for a strong man. I want some fresh country sausage and peaches," Roosevelt often said after his breakfast.

The 26th POTUS' lunch routine was comparatively lighter. He often had some milk and a breakfast or cold leftover meat with fruit. Although the evenings told a different story, dinners included fried chicken with white gravy, oysters, steak, and wild game

Given the amount of sugar and fat on his plate throughout the day, it sure does not look as healthy as his starting meal, but those times were different; there were hardly any studies on how to plan meals to stay healthy.

Roosevelt lived a successful and energetic life till the age of 60. Do you think Roosevelt's meal plan can actually be helpful for an energetic lifestyle?
