Four-Time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler Criticises Sam Sulek’s Diet Prep- “You Look Decent”
IFBB Pro bodybuilder Sam Sulek recently found himself under fire for his diet prep. In a viral clip posted on @cutlercast, Cutler critiqued Sulek’s diet prep before a major contest. He further goes on to call his physique simply “decent”- something that did not sit right with a lot of people.
However, Cutler was ready to defend his opinion. He talks about how most athletes would carry a balanced meal prep when they were traveling before a show, but Sulek did not have any of that. Most bodybuilders preparing for the Arnold Classic typically follow a strict, clean-eating plan, which Sulek was not following.
“He told me what he was eating, and it was not for a contest ten weeks out,” said Cutler, when asked about his comments. His unconventional food choices raised quite a few eyebrows, with his “dirty bulk” diet becoming viral on social media.
“This bulk is not a clean-cut chicken, rice, broccoli approach,” he said on his official YouTube channel. According to BarBend, His grocery lists often include Pringles, Mac and Cheese, Krispy Kreme donuts, and even Ramen noodles.
“My primary concern is maximizing my carb intake. I want most of my daily calories to come from carbs.”
Sulek, however, drastically changed his approach before the March 2026 Arnold Classic UK. He takes subscribers through his daily diet and how he plans on achieving the ‘perfect peak.’
How Sam Sulek is Fueling His Body for the Upcoming Competition
As the IFBB Pro debut draws closer, Sulek shares his complete meal prep, opting for 2,541 calories a day over five meals.
Meal one includes a pre-workout meal consisting of ground beef and rice cakes. It totals just 250 calories. Meal two, which is his actual breakfast, consists of 475 calories. This also includes ground beef with two packs of Instant Peach Oatmeal.
When questioned about the 8 grams of sugar present in the Instant Peach Oatmeal, he says, “I don’t understand the hate for carbs in a dieting phase.”
Meal three again consists of ground beef with four plain salted rice cakes and light seasoning. He strives to consume about eight to ten ounces of ground beef per meal to be able to reach his 50-gram protein benchmark.
Meal four includes turkey breast and two packs of Instant Blueberry Oatmeal with barbecue sauce. This brings him to a whopping 72 grams of protein already!
Finally, he ends his day with five sweetened rice cakes, totaling 2,541 calories, 249 grams of protein, and 303 grams of carbs.
