Four-Time World Cup Winner Lindsey Vonn Stuns With Recovery Workout

Lindsey Vonn amazed her fans with an intense recovery workout video she posted on Instagram on February 5, just days ahead of her Winter Olympics return.

Barely a week before that, on January 30, 2026, Lindsey Vonn crashed in the final downhill at Crans-Montana. She ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and suffered meniscal damage, but that couldn't keep her down.

Yet, just when people thought she might pull out, Vonn proved otherwise. “I'm not giving up, working as hard as I can to make this happen. Thank you to my team and everyone for their incredible support. Keep believing.”

In the video, she is seen wearing a brace on her left leg while exercising. Vonn's lower-body recovery workout included:

  • Barbell back squat
  • Fast feet squat jumps
  • Stability Ball Heel Kicks
  • Laternal lunges
  • Plyometric box jump

Before finally taking part in the Winter Olympics, Lindsey Vonn had to complete a qualifying training run. And on 6 February, 2026, she wrote on Instagram that “Nothing makes me happier! No one would have believed I would be here.”

She completed her first training session to qualify for the Olympics with 1:40.33. Unfortunately, fate had something else in store for her.

On February 8, 2026, during the Olympic Milano Cortina 2026 Alpine skiing downhill, she crashed just 13 seconds into the race after clipping a gate with her right hand.

After this incident, the race was halted for 10 minutes, and she was airlifted to Codivilla Hospital in Cortina. The president of the International Ski Federation, Johan Eliasch, said, “It's tragic.”

On February 10, Lindsey Vonn took to social media to reveal how bad the crash was. "I sustained a complex tibia fracture that is currently stable but will require multiple surgeries to fix properly," she wrote.

This crash brought a sad end to Vonn's Olympic campaign. However, Lindsey Vonn's spirit remained intact. "While yesterday did not end the way I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets,” she added.
