Gina Carano Tries Ice Bath Recovery for 1st Time Despite Getting Nervous Before Ronda Rousey Clash

MMA artist Gina Carano is returning to the cage after 17 years on May 16. It's quite obvious that one would be nervous after such a long absence.

Despite putting a lot of effort into preparing for the match, Carano also believes in active recovery methods. To be physically and mentally prepared for the upcoming fight, she has recently tried an ice bath for the first time.

On April 29, Most Valuable Promotion posted a video on their YouTube channel titled “MVP UNCUT: Gina Carano In Camp.” In the video, the Haywire actress said, “I'm going to try my first ice bath today. I actually feel so nervous.”

As Carano jumped into the cold water and plunged, she began to feel out of breath from the extreme cold. The instructor calmed her and helped her settle down, but the actress was shocked to hear her instructor ask, “Are you ready for the next step?”

Then her instructor asked her to sink a little deeper into the water so that her whole body feels the cold shock, which helps her recover faster.

But that's not all the actress from Daughter of the Wolf is doing for her recovery. Her recovery sessions include:

  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) at Sadeghi Medical Center in Las Vegas
  • Electrotherapy for recovery and pain
  • Red light therapy

These recovery methods help her continue her practice sessions without pain and promote longevity.

Apart from recovery, the artist is carefully practicing her boxing and attending training sessions.

Gina Carano’s training session

In the same video, after her recovery session, Gina Carano was seen visiting her training center, Nemea Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the gym, Carano was trained by the boxing coach, Chris Ben Chup Chavadza. Her coach praised her, saying, “She's just got a good instinct for fighting, good heart, good mentality.”

In fact, speaking about her quick learning, the coach further said, “She's almost a savant when to learn new things, like just picks it up quick.”

In the video, the Kickboxer: Vengeance actress was seen practicing:

  • Punching (Shadow boxing)
  • Foot work
  • Defense
  • Pad work
  • Shield training

The Muay Thai fighter is training hard in the gym to defeat her opponent in the May 16 match.

Though she is prepared for the fight, it will be interesting to see who will win the match between Ronda Rousey and Carano.
