Jelly Roll may have created history by winning 3 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Country Album, but several fans are also interested in learning about his close to 300 lbs weight-loss journey.
The 41-year-old country singer showed off his body after losing nearly 300 lbs during the photoshoot at the Grammys. This is an outcome of the health journey Jelly Roll began in 2022.

He also stated, “Man, I was on the brink of death. I'm not trying to stand on a soapbox, I'm just passionate about it, knowing how upside down our system is with food. And as an a******, it was hard for me to get away from it, so I did a lot of work with food”.
The singer also credited cardio for his weight loss. He said, “Running's been my real healer…. wake up and run every day—I mean every day, seven days a week—even if it's a recovery run, it's one mile, and it's a 15-minute jog, really slow. I run every day”.
Jelly Roll also remembered his struggles with weight by saying, “I was a prisoner to my own body. Dude, wiping my a** was a problem. Washing myself properly was a problem. Getting in cars. Every decision I made in life had to be based on my weight”.
Now, the Bloodline singer desires to inspire others who are struggling with their weight. He said, “Do whatever it takes. Get the weight off. Don't listen to nobody else. Go get your life straight and save that heart”.
Roll, who thinks his wife, Bunnie Xo, has the biggest role in his weight loss, also thinks that getting in better shape has made him a better father.
Jelly Roll Credits His Weight Loss to Better Parenting
According to Roll, his weight-loss journey has made him a better father by providing him with the strength to stay more active. During an interview with Extra, he proudly shared that he was coaching his “son's basketball team”.
Roll also said, “Spiritually, I've gotten closer to God, I've gotten closer to myself, I'm a better father…. I'm more present with my children. You should see it, dude”.
He also clarified that he is not coaching them competitively, but that he just feels “physically better”. The country singer admitted, "I didn't think about trying to coach a team…. So, it's like, for God to just even make that big of a difference, to have the weight off, literally the weight, 300 pounds, I'm a whole different human”.
