Hailey Van Lith’s Fitness Rules and Nutrition To Stay Fit Beyond the WNBA Court

Hailey Van Lith is already making history.

As long as I show up as myself every day, I'm very confident in what I bring to the table,” said the WNBA rookie, who has logged more minutes than any NCAA women's player.

She is also one of the only players in history to reach the Elite Eight of March Madness with three different teams. And she spent last summer winning an Olympic bronze medal. We might know about her career and her stats, but what about her workout routine? Let’s have a look.

Hailey Van Lith Workout

Speaking to Women’s Health, the Chicago Sky guard said that every workout and on-court routine is tailored to fit an individual’s needs. “Everything is specialized now for each individual. It's really a reason why women's sports in general have turned a corner, I think,” she tells Women’s Health.

A specialized workout routine is quite important for Hailey because her left leg is actually half an inch shorter than her right. “I need a lot of core work, and my legs, my glutes, and my hammies are really important. I think we saw in the NCAA tournament how important ACL health is to women.”

On the basketball court, she follows a 12-drill workout that is essential for improving her dribbling and shooting skills.

  • 7-minute finishing series

On game days, Hailey prefers to stay on an empty stomach, though she nibbles on some light snacks before the game.

“So I just nibble and snack before games. I know I need the calories and the nutrients, so I'll get as much as I can in, but I really like to feel super light when I play.”

Apart from that, Van Lith’s favorite meal is pasta. She said, “I am a pasta girl, outside of breakfast. Breakfast is my all-time favorite meal. So if it's not breakfast, I love pasta.

She further added, “I can do vodka sauce, I can do Alfredo, I can do bolognese. It does not matter. I'm not picky. I'm also a sweets girl, so after the game, I usually have some type of dessert, whether it's a cookie or a little scoop of ice cream.”

While her entire diet remains an unknown chapter yet to be unraveled, Hailey entered 2026 as a member of the Unrivaled 3x3, as a sharpshooter for Miami.
