At 41, her routine is less about "burning calories" and more about longevity, posture, and mental clarity.
Hathaway understands the importance of Strength over aesthetics
In terms of workouts, the actress prefers to maintain lean muscle and thus emphasizes strength training. Her workouts include push-ups, squats, and lunges, with a focus on improving stability and building functional strength.
Anne is a mother of two, and her postpartum experience was not about bouncing back, but taking back power. Surprisingly, motherhood has given her a confidence boost, as she disclosed at the Ellen show, merely weeks after giving birth:
“Being a mom has changed me in a couple ways. I actually, not based on this moment, but other moments feel a lot more confident… Normally, I walk into the gym and feel so intimidated, but now I walk in and I’m like, ‘Yeah I work out with five-pound weights, but I pushed a baby out of my body, I feel good right now.'”
This confidence boost has also made her look forward to high-intensity workouts. According to her, burpees are easier than childbirth, and who can disagree!
Apart from strength training, Anne trains with her personal trainer, Monique Eastwood, on "3D Movement." This essentially means that she follows a multidirectional movement regimen with lots of bending, stretching, squatting, and so on.
Dance-pilated fusion routines are also another way and involve ballet, Pilates, and HIIT training. This “multidirectional” training method, by combining ballet and Pilates routines, focuses on smaller muscles. Her training sessions usually start early morning, and yoga is often also a part of it.
