How fifty-four-year-old Fred Sirieix stays fit and lean with simple cardio methods
Fred Sirieix is maintaining a high-intensity boxing and bodyweight routine to stay lean at 54. The First Dates star recently shared the sustainable habits that keep him fit without using a restrictive diet.
While the world of social media may be filled with celebrities chasing intense transformations, Sirieix focused on movement and consistency, something he genuinely enjoys. He also made boxing the center of his fitness routine to serve his cardio.
The 54-year-old said, "It's a way of life, I have always done sports, and if I don't do it, I feel fidgety, and I need to exercise. It's important for my head, the Romans used to say a healthy mind, a healthy body. The older you get, the more you realize how important it is."
His simple and sustainable routine includes eight sets of three-minute boxing rounds with just a minute of rest in between each.
He has also spoken about how he genuinely enjoys training, and looking fit and lean is just a byproduct of that.
However, boxing is only a small part of the activities he performs to maintain his cardio at this age. There are several others in his routine.
Inside The Simple and Consistent Workout Routine of Fred Sirieix
Currently, Sirirex has adopted a method that also trains the mind besides the body. His training strategy allows him to stay focused and sharp throughout the session, as repeated sessions of high-intensity followed by short recovery periods are similar to traditional boxing sessions.
Remarkably, Sirieix manages to get in a total of 301 push-ups, 100 bodyweight squats, and 100 reverse lunges. His fitness levels are astounding, and he credits them to his consistent, sustainable workout.
He mentions how he doesn't follow an overly restrictive diet, even enjoying wine, butter, and other foods that many athletes may consider 'restrictive.'
Sirirex said, "I think it's better to be balanced throughout the year than to employ drastic measures… It's about a balanced approach to your diet, for example, like eating butter, but not too much," he says.
Fans praise his consistency and reflect on how his routine may appear minimal, but it greatly helps in improving the overall quality of life and mental health.
