How Halle Berry Keeps Body Fat Below 15% at the Age of 59 With 20G of Daily Carbs

At 59, Halle Berry continues to impress with her dedication to health and fitness. The actress has maintained remarkable physical conditioning over the years. Her secret is to keep her body fat under control through training and follow a healthy diet.

Years of discipline and consistency played a major role in her longevity and overall wellness. Berry has been training under celebrity trainer Peter Lee Thomas. Other than this, she follows a strict ketogenic diet.

As reported by Box Life, her diet generally includes less than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day, with dietary fats and moderate protein providing energy for rigorous workouts. Alongside intermittent fasting, the plan helps maintain below 15% body fat year-round without extreme caloric restriction.

Berry lives by the philosophy, "movement as medicine." As she played the role of an MMA fighter in the movie called Bruised, she ensured to learn intense combat training.

At the age of 59, she follows an intense training schedule and trains 5-6 days a week. Her training sessions last from 60 to 90 minutes. Berry’s Mondays start with heavy compound lifts and boxing rounds.

Tuesdays are for Jiu Jitsu, and Wednesdays she does Functional strength and a little bit of Muay Thai too.

Berry also prioritizes weight training highly, compound movements that build real functional strength. Movements like deadlift, squats, overhead press, and farmer carries.

Thursday is for her active recovery, when she does some light yoga and mobility work. Friday again, she is back to training in boxing with some heavy pad work. On Saturdays, she performs full MMA-style training, followed by rest on Sunday.

Other than the training, a major part of her fitness journey is her diet.

The 20-Gram Rule: How Keto Helped Halle Berry

Berry started following a ketogenic diet to manage her type 1 diabetes. With time, she realised that being on a keto diet delivers her good results, other than reducing blood sugar levels. It also helps her be more active physically and mentally. Following the diet, the recovery process has become faster.

Her daily carb consumption is less than 20 grams, while the source of energy for intense physical training is provided by fats and protein.

She does intermittent fasting throughout the day and starts eating at Noon. Berry breaks her fast with eggs and avocado. Mid-afternoon, she takes protein and vegetables that are starch-free.

At dinner, she eats salmon or ribeye with leafy greens. In between meals, Berry prefers snacking on nuts and cheese.

Nearing 60, she still maintains impressive physical fitness and athletic ability, proving that age does not necessarily limit performance or overall wellness.
