How Henry Cavill Stays 200 Lbs After 40 With Protein Principles

Feb 26, 2026, 11:10 AM CUT

Some guys wear the cape for a paycheck, but Henry Cavill looks like he walked straight out of the Fortress of Solitude.

Six feet tall, carved like steel, with shoulders built to carry Metropolis, his Superman-era physique runs on brutal workouts and a no-nonsense, protein-loaded grind.

At 40, many actors struggle to adapt to a new lifestyle, but for Cavill, it’s just another day at the office. Recently, Men’s Active magazine’s Instagram handle revealed what keeps him at 90 kg with a natural physique at this age.

“The shift isn’t dramatic. It’s structural. Diet first. High-protein meals built around steak, chicken, eggs, and rice,” read the post.

“Not extreme restriction, but consistent fuel aimed at preserving lean mass and accelerating recovery. Magnesium for sleep. Omega-3 for joint health. Protein to maintain tissue. Nothing theatrical,” it further added.

“Trained under the guidance of Dave Reinzi, Cavill’s workout focus is simple: stay away from ego-lifting and step into as much tempo control as possible, “Slow repetitions. Isometric holds. Posterior-chain priority. Enough stimulus to grow.”

We now know his diet revolves around maximizing protein intake, but how? Let’s take a closer look.

Henry Cavill’s Superman Diet

“Out of all the things I’ve done in the past, I think the fasted cardio stuff is actually working best for me," he told MH. "I’m in the best shape of my life," Cavill admitted. He eats like a caveman, heavy on meat, but insists on keeping his diet as clean as possible.

  • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with steak & an oatmeal protein shake. On top of that, he drinks Rosemary water to wash it all down.
  • First Lunch: Chicken curry with jasmine rice and an apple for dessert.
  • Second Lunch: Roast chicken breast with roast potatoes and a side of curry sauce
  • Dinner: Bison steak with brown rice pasta

Lastly, he drinks a protein shake before bed to complete his daily protein intake. This is how the ‘Son of Krypton’ structures his day of eating.
