How Jay Cutler Resets His Body and Mind Every Sunday

Jay Cutler is in incredible shape even though a decade has past since his retirement, and it stems from a routine that requires a reset every Sunday.
Cutler's appearances on his Cutler Cast podcast, shows how he maintains bulging biceps and an enviable physique even at 52. Besides maintaining a training routine, the 4x Mr. Olympia resets himself for the upcoming week with a few activities every Sunday.
On February 16, an Instagram reel from Mega Fit Meals revealed the Sunday-specific tasks that help Cutler reset his body and mind. The caption to the post read, "Sunday reset sets the tone. Training locked. Meals ready. Mind right."
So, here's a summary of what Cutler does every Sunday to revitalize himself for the upcoming week.
- Spending time with his dog
- Doing some work on his laptop
- Keeping his hydration level maintained
- Taking his pre-workout supplement, Prevail Focus, created by Cutler Nutrition.
- Doing cardio and other exercises in the gym
- Having his meals like eggs, toast, and chicken with rice and veggies.
- Enjoying a movie.
The 2-time Mr. Olympia, Derek Lunsford, displayed his appreciation for Cutler's Sunday-routine by liking the video. But while Cutler follows his reset routine only on Sunday, he works out almost everyday.
Jay Cutler’s Daily Workout Routine in His 50s
On July 9, 2025, Cutler, revealed that he trains every day. In that video, he explains his training splits and reveals that he no longer trains his traps.
He said, "I train seven days a week, but I’m going to tell you at least the groupings of my body parts. One day, I do chest and calves. Everyone always knows I do calves before chest. Second day, I’ll do arms, biceps, and triceps. Third day, I do shoulders. I do shoulders on its own. I don’t do any trap work anymore."
Cutler continued, “Another day I do back. Back on its own day. And then, of course, legs”.
He also discussed his philosophy of current exercise, saying, “I’ve been retired now for quite some time, but I pretty much stay on that schedule, and sometimes I take days in between, especially when I travel on a plane or whatnot."
So, it's quite apparent why Cutler needs the Sundays to rejuvenate himself for the next week. How do you spend your Sundays?
