“It’s My Title”- Derek Lunsford Warns Andrew Jacked Ahead of 2026 Mr. Olympia

The battle for Olympia just got intense as Derek Lunsford steps in with his claws out.

The 2026 Olympia Battle was not a regular event; it was a battlefield where two of this year’s biggest contenders stood face-to-face, ready to prove who truly deserved the title. And the reigning champion did not come slowly.

Trash talk and intimidation are all part of the Olympia spirit, and we have seen it with so many previous rivalries, like Phil Heath and Kai Greene, but Derek Lunsford took it to another level at the Olympia Battle. He took the stage and gave a direct challenge to his opponent, Andrew Jacked.

"You are 41, I'll tell you this, I've been in this far too long and now a father of two. To ever let somebody come in and take it from me. To ever let somebody come in and take the title away from me. This is my title. I worked for it for more than a decade, and nobody's taking it from me."

Derek Lunsford holds the current Mr. Olympia title and is in no mood of giving it up. The 32-year-old first won the title in 2023, before losing it to Samson Dauda in 2024. But he made a historic comeback in 2025 when he reclaimed his title, becoming the second bodybuilder to do so after Jay Cutler.

Now, with his title on the line again, Lunsford looks worked up, especially because the opponent is Andrew Jacked, who has had an incredible year so far. With his clean sweeps at both Arnold Classics, the Nigerian bodybuilder has become a fan favorite to win the title this year.

And the stage was not the only place where the two had a heated exchange. The two even butted heads at the Newtech Gym, and it was even more intense than the one on stage. Derek charged at Andrew with, "You're never going to win the Olympia. As long as I have anything to do with it. I'll mark my words. 2023, 2025. I'm 5-0 already."

And don't think that Jacked didn't have a response for Lunsford's taunts. He kept calm and replied with, "You may be 5-0, but there will be a flip on the script this time around. Definitely. It will stop at 5-0."

While there is still time to see who will win this year's title, competition like this makes the wait for Olympia worthwhile. Lunsford and Jacked's exchange got the buzz going and had everyone talking.

Fouad Abiad’s Take on Derek Lunsford and Andrew Jacked’s Heated Exchange

Discussing the now-viral moment of the heated exchange between Derek Lunsford and Andrew Jacked, former IFBB pro Fouad Abiad gave his honest take on the confrontation. Although Lunsford’s comments looked like simple confidence, Fouad believed there was more to the story.

In his view, Derek Lunsford is beginning to feel the pressure of Andrew’s growing progress. “Andrew is the one with the momentum,” Fouad explained. “He’s just getting better and better and better as time passes.”

Fouad himself believes that Jacked does not need to make massive physical changes to win. Unlike many competitors, Fouad argued that Jacked's frame, aesthetics, and structure are already elite.

Having said that, he made it clear that Derek is still a serious threat thanks to his conditioning and onstage persona. He pointed out that Lunsford has consistently arrived toned with his polished posing, tanning, and stage presence.
