Joaquín Panichelli returns to training with focus on the new season
The FIFA World Cup chapter has almost come to a close. However, while we bid farewell to some journeys, many others are only beginning. Such is also the case for Argentina's forward, Joaquín Panichelli.
The RC Strasbourg striker suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee nearly 3 months before the World Cup, forcing him to leave the pitch with a heavy heart. Although the injury sabotaged his 2026 season, Panichelli is already eyeing his next run.
"With the same excitement every year. Different process but with a clear goal. @rcsa 💙🔜," stated the caption of the July 11 Instagram post.
The Instagram carousel post included shots in front of the squat racks and the air bike. The Argentinian player also had a physical therapy session.

The injury, which occurred during Argentina's drill session on Thursday before a friendly game against Mauritania, required surgery and had a recovery window of six to eight months. That sidelines the striker for the rest of his 2026 season.
The severity of the freak injury brought out Panichelli's most vulnerable character.
Joaquín Panichelli's heartbreaking message
The Argentina standout, who made his debut for the national team only last year in November, vented his frustration on social media.
Reflecting on the absurdity of the situation, Panichelli wrote, "Sometimes I don't understand how this works... but I know that no one deserves this."
Yet, as grief-stricken as he was, Panichelli didn't shy away from owning the macabre as an inspiration for the future.
"Life owes me dreams to fulfill. And it's not going to give them to me, I'm going to work for them," added the soccer player.
The Argentinian national team also came forward with its support during the testing times. "Strength, Joaco. We are with you," read the official statement from the team.
"Losing Panichelli to a torn ACL hurts a lot," goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez added, highlighting the gaping hole Panichelli's absence left.
However, this is not the first time Panichelli has bounced back from an injury, having undergone a similar debacle in 2024.
