Jodie Comer's personal trainer reveals the 100-rep ab challenge for a strong core
Actress Jodie Comer has what it takes to stay in fighting shape. Finally, her personal trainer David Higgins revealed the 100-rep ab challenge she took on to build a strong core – and it’s nothing short of remarkable.
During an interview with The New York Times, Comer revealed that she religiously follows the expert guidance of her personal trainer, David Higgins. She doesn’t allow herself to miss even a day, even when she is traveling. She recalled his brutal yet effective 100-rep ab challenge that is one of the best calorie-burners you can find.
“I do Pilates with my trainer David Higgins. He’s in London, so we just do a FaceTime call. I need someone to make sure I’m not slacking.”

Here is a breakdown of Comer’s 100-rep ab challenge:
- 20 toe taps (legs together
- 20 crunches
- 20 toe taps (left)
- 20 toe taps (right)
- 20 toe taps (legs together)
Sounds brutal? Well, it’s harder than it looks.
As per Women’s Health, Comer revealed how an hour of Pilates in the morning with Higgins on a reformer has completely transformed her core, much more than weight training ever did. Her secret? Sticking to durations over reps on the reformer machine.
Pilates builds lean muscle without bulk, unlike weight training's hypertrophy focus.
She shared her reformer machine workout, which consisted of plank to pikes, plank hold, wheelbarrows, glute kickbacks, and leg circles.
The 100-rep ab challenge perfectly fits Comer’s health and wellness mindset. Comer thoroughly believes that beauty begins from the inside with healthy habits that nourish the body and soul.
Beyond the gym: Jodie Comer's diet & skincare secrets
Comer’s approach to beauty and wellness is refreshingly simple. She doesn’t believe in strict diets that suffocate you or chasing modern beauty trends. For her, beauty and wellness connect to simple, sustainable habits.
During an interview with British Vogue, Comer revealed that the secret to youthful, glowing skin lies in what you eat. She stays mindful of what she puts on her plate, opting primarily for nutrient-rich foods and avoiding junk.
However, she admitted that she doesn’t completely restrict herself from guilty pleasures, especially chocolates or alcohol. The key, she said, is in understanding your body and responding to it.
Of course, she doesn’t just rely on healthy eating and hydration for her beautiful skin. Comer shared that she enjoys the occasional facial and uses high-quality skincare products at home.
Alongside following a good diet and skincare routine, she also tries to make time for early-morning yoga sessions.
What is your take on Comer’s 100-rep ab challenge? Do you think you would be up for the challenge?
