Joseph Baena’s Full Push Day Gains Start With a Power Meal

Joseph Baena is getting ready for his bodybuilding debut. Following in his father Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps, he recently shared the 'power meal' boosting his push day workouts. The meal offers a glimpse into the discipline required to build a championship physique.

Baena has been regularly sharing his preparation journey with fans on Instagram through photos, stories, and videos. In one such Instagram Story, posted on March 23, he shared a meal he eats on his push day.

In the story, the actor wrote “Today’s spread.” For his push day gains, he consumes:

  • Eggwhite omelette
  • Mixed greens
  • Roasted potatoes
  • Grilled chicken
  • Water
  • Black coffee

This protein-packed meal is designed to help Baena's demanding gym sessions and support muscle growth. The meal provides a balance of protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

Schwarzenegger’s son not only shared his diet but also his push-day gym routine. He posted a carousel of videos on the same day, captioning “Almost Show Time! 😮‍💨” On his push day, Baena performed movements such as:

  • Shoulder press
  • Lateral raises
  • Chest-supported Y raises
  • Rear-delt flys
  • Flat dumbbell press
  • Inclined press
  • EZ bar curls
  • Lying bicep curls
  • Cable flys

The fitness model's balance between gym and diet is evident. In the video, his upper body looked perfectly defined with well-sculpted shoulders and abs. He is all set to carry forward his father’s bodybuilding legacy. 

Just as he is about to start his bodybuilding career, Baena takes his diet approach seriously and consciously makes his meals.

Joseph Baena’s Chicken Recipe

Protein is the building block of muscle development, which is why Joseph Baena consumes a protein-dense diet. On March 25, Baena shared a video on his Instagram captioned “Chicken rice and everything nice 🐔🍚”

The post further reads, “As we approach our goal, this, and the ground beef plate are really the only things I’ve been eating the last couple of weeks. On this first prep, I’ve come to realize that the consistency is really the key to getting lean and not losing muscle, only a couple of days away, and I’m feeling great!”

This chicken rice recipe took only “15-20 min to prepare.” The ingredients to make this full meal are:

  • Rice
  • Chicken
  • Mixed greens
  • Asparagus
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Avocado
  • Mustard sauce
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika

He simply boiled the rice and sauteed the chicken until tender and juicy. Baena served the meal with baked asparagus and a salad mix of cabbage, apple cider vinegar, and mustard sauce. This combination helps replenish energy and supports muscle recovery.
