Kai Greene Gets Criticised as Bodybuilding Community Refuses to Believe His Comeback Claims Prior to 2026 Season- “Stay as Ambassador”

It has been approximately a decade since Kai Greene entered a competition following the 2016 Arnold Classic. ‘The Predator’ was even invited by the Mr. Olympia committee to compete in 2017 without having to requalify. However, he declined the offer. Years have passed since his peak. Does this mean he has officially retired?

Speaking with Generation Iron on YouTube, the three-time Arnold Classic winner shared an update on his career, and guess what, he has yet to leave the realm of bodybuilding, “Honestly, hell yeah. There’s a possibility. I never retired, you know. I never retired, and that was for a reason. Yeah, I didn’t retire.”

He further added, “And I’m not talking like this just to get attention right now or to be boastful. I think this—you hear people say, ‘Oh, well, a person gave up.’ I don’t think you give up. I think that you collect yourself, you reflect, and you continue to do the work that is needed to develop and build yourself.”

After his Arnold Classic win in 2016, Kai Greene took a long break, focusing on other ventures such as Metatron Concepts: The Silent Sculptor, a project in which Greene assumed the role of a creative professional and public thinker.

However, even if he gets back to competing, will he be able to compete against the current greats? Well, the fans don't believe it.

Fans blast Kai Greene over comeback announcement

His comeback date is yet to be ascertained, but one thing is certain: his return.

Yet, fans are not entirely convinced by his comeback claims. While some believe that Greene should remain a prominent figure in modern bodybuilding, others expressed their frustration!

"Please just stay as Ambasaddor of the sport."

"Been hearing this since like 2018. Let's give it up already."

"We heard it too many times, it's boring Kai"

"Never gonna happen, he's a legend already. No need to make a fake comeback"

"Genuinely think, this would be an insane return"

Interestingly, when the host asked the former three-time Arnold Classic champion how he would fare against the current greats of modern bodybuilding, he gave a very measured response.

"My role, you should be working to encourage the new talent that’s coming up, because there’s a new group of fans and a host of new things that need to be allowed to grow," said Greene.
