Larry Wheels Asks if He Should Train With Merab After Tough Roll

Bodybuilding against MMA has always been a prime-time debate. Merab Dvalishvili seems to have settled that once and for all.

American powerlifter and fitness influencer, Larry Wheels, recently linked up with the former UFC Bantamweight champion for a friendly challenge. However, Dvalishvili wasted no time in demonstrating how he'd take down the 280 lbs beast.

Flaunting a jab to the inside single leg to back take sequence, the Georgian left no room for suspicion of his dominance. Using his elite wrestling calibre, Dvalishvili proved that sheer brawn eventually fails to real, perfected technique.

Following the humbling experience, Larry Wheels posted a clip of the encounter on Instagram on May 18. The caption read, "Should I train with Merab?" as a cheeky nod to Dvalishvili's immaculate technique.

The UFC phenom also showcased other sequences, including an arm drag to sweep setup. However, the most impressive part is easily the size difference between the two athletes.

The 135 lbs fighter standing just short of 170 cm has a massive disadvantage when it comes to physique and stature against the 280 lbs bodybuilder. Even such a comical size difference, which has forever spiced up the bodybuilder vs. fighter debate, eventually fell short.

In fact, it's not just Merab Dvalishvili tackling this social media rant.

Larry Wheels gets humbled by an amateur MMA fighter

Just days before Wheels met Dvalishvili, the bodybuilder joined for a session at Xtreme Couture MMA gym. Wheels was immediately one of the biggest guys in the room.

But when matters entered the ring, the story quickly flipped. Paired against an amateur MMA fighter, Wheels was attacked with a takedown within seconds.

Although a hard sprawl defended that, the fighter quickly recalibrated strategies, shifting to an arm-in guillotine, the result was as expected, with Wheels tapping out not even a minute into the round.

However, even though such is expected, especially with a trained fighter pitted against a bodybuilder, size and strength are real advantages. When combined with intentional training, it can become one of the most lethal weapons.

With Larry Wheels exploring the world of combat sports more, do you think he would stick around for an anticipated rebuttal?
