Lee Priest followed an intense workout regimen and strict diet that helped him shine on stage, but 'The Blond Myth's' off-season diet can also startle many, considering the amount of calories he consumed.

On February 24, @old.school.bodybuilders shared an Instagram post that revealed the specifications of Priest's off-season diet. The caption to it detailed how the 2002 IFBB San Francisco Pro winner "ate big meals" and took in "high calories," even when he wasn't preparing for a contest.

It read, "Lee Priest didn’t stay small because he was not afraid of calories. In the off-season, he ATE. Big meals. High calories. Total commitment to growth."

So, let's decode the off-season diet of the legend:

Lee Priest’s High-Calorie and No Fear of Food Approach During Off-Season

Lee Priest used to have:

  • 6 to 8 meals per day
  • 5000 to 7000+ calories daily
  • Ate every 2 to 3 hours

For the Australian bodybuilder, size was the priority, not staying lean.

Lee Priest's Core muscles-building foods

For building his muscle, Priest used to consume:

  • Chicken, steak, tuna, whole eggs
  • Rice, pasta, oatmeal, bread
  • Protein shakes between meals
  • Nuts, milk, and added fats for extra calories

Lee Priest’s fast-food choices

Lee Priest loves food. Once he said, “ I just enjoy food! Life's too short to be on a diet your whole life. Eighty percent of the people you see on diets are always miserable”.

And when it comes to fast food, he had his own preferences, such as:

  • KFC family buckets
  • Burgers, fires and ice-creams

Even during an interview with Nuclear Nutrition, Priest said, “When I go to a place like McDonald’s, I’ll typically order 2 hamburgers, small fried, a shake, and 6 chicken nuggets. I never eat large amounts at any one sitting. I just eat what I want all throughout the day, constantly picking at food”.

He used high-calorie meal options to hit his targets, but would you also place your trust in his process if you want to bulk up?
