Lewis Hamilton undergoes heavy physical training to prepare for the F1 Miami GP

Lewis Hamilton is considered one of the hardest-working athletes of this generation, and his latest training video is proof of that. After 44-year-old Fernando Alonso, Hamilton is the senior-most F1 driver on the circuit, and yet he trains like it's still 2007 and he is still 22.

Earlier this week, @espnf1 shared an Instagram video clip shared by of the seven-time F1 champion training in the gym.

In the video, the 41-year-old is seen pushing a triangular gym sled with multiple weighted plates on it. The video, which was initially shared by Lewsi Hamilton himself, was supposedly in the lead-up to the ongoing Miami Grand Prix weekend.

F1 was slumbering for over a month, with its last race being the Japanese Grand Prix on March 29. Two April races in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain were canceled because of the US-Iran conflict. But now, drivers are gearing up for the rest of the busy season, including the Briton.

Lewis Hamilton often shares clips of his workouts on social media. Just last month, on April 21, the Ferrari driver shared a workout video on Instagram. The video, captioned "Always pushing," featured Hamilton using an ab roller and performing different intense exercises.

Even at 41, the seven-time F1 champion shares pictures of himself training in the gym and lifting weights, showing his commitment to the sport. If that makes you wonder what his training and diet are like, look no further.

Lewis Hamilton's training and diet routine

In an interview with Men’s Health magazine last December, Lewis Hamilton shared his evolving outlook on fitness. He said, "When I was younger, I think the training was really my therapy – and it still kind of is, particularly the runs. That’s where I get most of my thinking done."

His training regimen has changed a lot over the years, with the current one including HIIT, weightlifting, and resistance training, especially for the neck, considering the G-forces that drivers pull on the track.

What Hamilton has added to his routine are ice baths, yoga, meditation, pilates, stretching, and breathwork. He is very particular about his recovery and sleep.

The 41-year-old keeps a strict tab on his diet, sleep, and physical activities taking his busy F1 schedule into account that takes him across the globe.

For Lewis Hamilton, mental training is also as important. He believes positive affirmations keep the mind at peace and help build a healthy relationship with the body. He starts his day with them and ensures to keep that attitude going throughout the day.

According to the champion, "When you speak positively about yourself, your body reacts to that."
