Lindsey Vonn reflects on healthy routine’s importance for better immunity amidst recovery
Lindsey Vonn suffered a dangerous crash this year at the Winter Olympics. But she is on a steady recovery process, and she recently came clean on how following a health routine can benefit everyone.
Vonn shared an Instagram reel on April 24, where she urged her followers to take a wellness assessment test. Besides talking about her recovery, the Olympian also stressed maintaining a healthy routine to keep the immune system healthy.
She said, "Whether you're chasing a personal best, juggling a busy family, or trying to stay healthy for the people you love, anybody can help support their immune system and antibodies by taking a few steps to a healthier lifestyle."
The 41-year-old suffered a devastating crash during the women’s downhill final of the 2026 Milano Cortina. She suffered a tibia fracture and had to undergo multiple surgeries to recover.
Ever since then, she has been sharing updates about her health with physiotherapy videos and knee rehabilitation exercises. Lindsey Vonn had returned to skiing after six years.
Days before her accident, Vonn ruptured the ACL in her left knee during another crash in Switzerland. Despite these major setbacks, Vonn has no plans to rush her retirement decision.
"I don’t need anyone’s permission to do what makes me happy. Maybe that means racing again, maybe that doesn’t. Only time will tell."
In the meantime, Vonn is taking her sweet time with recovery, living each day as it comes.
How is Lindsey Vonn's recovery process going?
Although initially amputation was being considered, fortunately, that didn't happen. Instead, Vonn chose to go for a surgical procedure. Two months after her first surgery, she started rehab by going to the gym.
Ever since then, Lindsey Vonn has been sharing her progress with her fans every step of the way. According to The Sun, Vonn is now preparing for her sixth surgery and is hoping that this one will be her last.
Talking to The Sun, Vonn said, “It’s definitely been a tough two months, but I feel like I’ve kind of hit some nice milestones recently, and am getting closer to being back to the real world and getting my life back."
Keeping a positive attitude, Vonn is already making plans for the summer. After the surgery, she is planning to go on a vacation and is hoping to go scuba diving and kite surfing.
So, while the 41-year-old has maintained the mystery around her return to the ice, do you think that will ever happen, considering the kind of injury she suffered?
