Lindsey Vonn Shares Gym Comeback Four Weeks After Scary Crash

American alpine ski racer, Lindsey Vonn, is back in the gym, pushing hard through pain and revamping his strength day by day after suffering a crash at the 2026 Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics.

Vonn is also actively sharing her recovery journey on her social Media. On March 5, she posted a similar video on her Instagram. Its caption read, “Definitely some hard times, but still thankful… still working hard. The only goal is to get healthy. One day at a time.”

In the video, she performed movements like:

  • Leg extensions
  • Core-building movements with a medicine ball
  • Upper body training with dumbbells.

In the video, Vonnis also tried to stand up from her wheelchair and put some body weight on the injured, bandaged leg as part of the rehabilitation process. Along with exercise, Lindsey is also undergoing leg therapy to aid recovery.

Due to her freak crash at the Milano Cortina, she went through four different surgeries, which saved her leg from amputation. She sustained a complex tibia fracture after enduring a terrible crash just 13 seconds into her women's downhill run on February 8.

In another Instagram post, Vonn thanked her longtime physician, Dr. Tom Hackett, for saving her. But while she seems to be recovering well, the injury brought more issues than just physical pain.

Lindsey Vonn Also Fought a Mental Battle Following Her Injury

Just like Vonn keeps sharing her recovery updates with her followers, she resorted to the same way to disclose how her injury also subjected her to mental problems. On February 24, Vonn posted a long, emotional message on X, disclosing how the injury had worn her down mentally.

She mentioned, “Today was a hard day... my physical battle began the second I got hurt but the mental battle started today. It hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s a battle I’m used to because I’ve done it so many times. I have always learned from every injury. Each one has made me a better and stronger person in different ways… but the battle of the mind can be dark and hard and unrelenting."

Although Vonn is fighting with her injury and slowly getting better, she is not alone. She is receiving support from the sports community.

The NBA icon, LeBron James, took to the comments section of her recent recovery video. He backed Vonn, stating, "You Got This!! Small thing to a GIANT!!"

So, what message would you like to leave for her?
