Maggie Grindatti’s Training Method Behind Elite BJJ Conditioning

Maggie Grindatti, the 7-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu winner, is a symbol of hard work and discipline. The wife, athlete, and coach regularly posts her training videos for her thousands of Instagram followers.

In one of such videos, which she posted on December 8, 2025, she gave a glimpse of her training method that helps her maintain elite BJJ conditioning.

The video's caption reads, “Basic movements, high reps, and high rewards. FULL BODY.” The more interesting part was that the Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion demonstrated movements that didn't require machines. Anyone can do it with an elevated platform and weight, which is why she explained it as “So doable”.

So, the list of exercises for that she was seen to, “4 rounds with 8-12 reps each side of everything” is:

  • Half kneeling kettlebell windshield wiper
  • Plate rotations
  • Kettlebell deadlift with elevated bench leg
  • Swinging single-arm kettlebell front raises
  • Medicine ball side-to-side situps
  • Kettlebell lateral squat with elevated leg

Maggie Grindatti also shared a short video on January 12, 2026, to show how she maintains her balance and core.

She posted, “Balance meaning literally but also 3 bi-lateral and 3 uni-lateral exercises”. She follows those movements with:

  • 2 with the bar
  • 2 with the ball
  • 2 with the Bosu & plate

According to her and ideal variation is “8 or 8 reps each side x 4 rounds less”.

The athlete does everything it takes to stay fit for her profession. Last year, she also shared her mindset by posting images of her weight loss, showing how she transformed her body from 164 lbs to 144 lbs.

Maggie Grindatti’s narrative that helps her lose weight

Maggie Grindatti, who revealed her weight-loss journey on March 15, 2025, explained her “6-Week weight cut: A Whole New Level of Discipline”.

Grindatti, who loves her body in any shape, believes that with full commitment, anything can be accomplished.

She also revealed the biggest battle anyone can face during the process. According to her, “Most failed cuts come down to three things”, which are

  • Rushing the process: She suggests not to outwork a bad diet; one needs to avoid junk food and gradually focus on calorie deficiency.
  • Cheating the plan: she suggests following it and says, “If you step outside the strategy, don’t be shocked when the scale doesn’t cooperate”.
  • Not eating enough: Grindatti believes weight loss cannot be achieved by starving. One needs to get proper fuel to cut the weight.

However, for her, the strategy is “Self-talk. I kept reminding myself: Don’t sabotage your own progress”.

So, how do you keep motivating yourself to achieve your goal?
