Mark Wahlberg's fitness journey started way before he began posting fitness-related reels on Instagram, but one of his recent posts revealed how the place where he started now looks different, as he also made a confession.

On March 14, the 54-year-old actor took to Instagram to share his revisit to the Hollywood, California gym where his fitness and acting journey began. The 54-year-old's caption disclosed that the facility was known as Gold's Gym back then, but has now been acquired by EOS Fitness.

The video displayed Wahlberg saying, "All right, it’s 4:03 in the morning. We are in West Hollywood on Cole. The old Gold’s Gym has now been converted to an EOS. This is where the whole fitness journey started. This is where the whole acting journey started." Then came his confession, "We never hit four o’clock in the morning, though."

The clip garnered attention from one of the bodybuilding legends, 4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler, who reacted to the post with a short but enthusiastic message. He penned, “Go time!!”

While the nostalgic gym visit highlighted where Mark Wahlberg’s fitness journey began, the actor’s discipline doesn’t stop at early-morning workouts.

His strict diet routine plays an equally important role in maintaining the physique that has defined his Hollywood career.

A Protein-Heavy Diet Fuels Mark Wahlberg’s 4 a.m. Workouts

Mark Wahlberg is not only dependent on his workout routine for staying fit, but also on his nutrition strategy. The strategy is built around one idea: to remain consistent. Wahlberg follows a structured meal plan, which comprises protein-rich food.

Following his 4 am workout session, the actor treats himself to a high-protein breakfast, which helps him with muscle recovery.

His post-training meal typically includes scrambled eggs with turkey, several hard-boiled eggs, wild salmon topped with lemon, and a serving of blueberries.

This breakfast for Wahlberg is completely non-negotiable. Similarly, his daily eating plans are also balanced meals.

Lunch generally includes lean chicken, salads, sweet potatoes, fruit, and nuts, while dinner often features seafood or lean meats paired with vegetables for fibre intake.

Wahlberg has also experimented with intermittent fasting, compressing his meals into a specific time window while still maintaining a high protein intake.
