Mark Wahlberg Joins Jesse James for a Workout, Fitness World Reacts

How does Mark Wahlberg manage to still stay so fit? Jesse James West found out the hard way.

YouTuber Jesse James West got to work out with one of the fittest Hollywood actors, and by the end of it, he was completely drained. Wahlberg invited JJW to be a part of the 4 am club, and it was a little too much for the content creator to handle.

Yes, you heard that right, 4 am. While most people are dreaming, Mark Wahlberg is busy training himself with something less of a workout and more of a military training session. And this time, West got a firsthand experience of just how intense the actor’s famous 4 A.M. Club really is.

The video, posted by Walhberg, starts off with the two sitting in freezing cold water. While Jesse looked confident, Mark immediately made it clear that this won’t be an ordinary gym session. Gradually, West seemed to enjoy the cold plunge, and the two sat in the big tub discussing fitness and discipline.

Then, Mark shows Jesse what he casually calls a “warm-up,” which looks like enough to destroy most people’s legs. It has everything from deep squat holds to lunges, pulses, sled work, Wim Hof breathing, and a knee-over-toe stretch warm-up designed to keep constant tension on the legs.

But the most painful moment came from an air bike challenge, where the goal is to keep pedaling at a steady pace without letting the machine stop. Jesse repeatedly failed and got Mark mocked by Wahlberg. Every time the bike stopped, Jesse had to restart.

“Why can’t I stand up?” Jesse asks after one brutal set. “Because you got to stand up,” Mark replied without sympathy.

The rest of the workout included:

  • Assault bike/air bike
  • Burpees
  • Pendulum squat
  • Knee-over-toe squats
  • Hack squats
  • Half squats / partial squats
  • Tempo squats
  • Pulse reps
  • Static holds
  • Air bike finisher

What made the workout interesting is hearing why Wahlberg still trains this hard at 54. When asked what keeps him motivated, he gave a simple answer:

“This works. This is what got me here. So why wouldn’t I keep going?”

This mindset defines the entire workout is based on longevity, discipline, and maintaining physical performance.

And that is what impressed his fans, too.

Fans React to Wahlberg and West Working Out

This was an impressive and visibly challenging workout, and fans let their thoughts be known. One user wrote,

"The ice bath at 4am,.... That is out of this world."

After the brutal workout session, Jesse James West himself commented on the post, saying,

 "My legs are STILL SORE."

Another user joked, "He's going on the wahl of fame for sure."

One user commented on the workout saying, "Pendulum squats are no joke."

Another fan talked about the impact of the workout, seeing the shaking legs as a sign of an effective workout.
