Melissa Joan Hart Reveals Two Diet Cuts Behind 18-Pound Loss

Melissa Joan Hart reveals that eliminating two food items contributed to her 18-pound weight loss and made her feel better overall.

The 49-year-old told People magazine, "I actually feel stronger and better than I have in a really long time."

Hart, who is best known for her iconic roles in hit shows like Clarissa and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, over the years, actively engaged in conversations regarding wellness and lifestyle. Melissa admitted that going through her midlife and being menopausal made her think that she couldn't lose weight.

So, instead of focusing on that, she was eyeing a sustainable health journey. It was during this process that she discovered the wonders of eliminating alcohol and sugar from her diet.

"I haven't had a drink in over a year. I just don't even enjoy drinking. So, why bother? So, I cut these things out of my life, and I started to feel better. And in doing that, I lost a lot of weight and kind of feel great."

Talking about her hydration routine, Melissa admitted not enjoying drinking plain water, so she replaces it with club soda with lime and any kind of hot or cold tea, like peppermint or green tea.

How a meal-delivery program helped Melissa shed her baby weight

After giving birth to her third child, Tucker, in 2012, Melissa & Joey star struggled to lose her pregnancy weight. Initially, she lost 30 lbs on her own, but later switched to a meal-delivery program at her sister-in-law's recommendation (Nutrisystem).

They created healthier, portion-controlled versions of her favorite meals and helped her lose an additional 40 lbs in two years.

Besides that, following a training program also contributed heavily to her weight loss. To make training fun, she includes her friends and family in the regimen.

She takes spin classes and loves to take long walks with her friends or her husband. The couple also trains together three times a week, and it has become an activity just for the two of them without their kids.
