Mike Tyson on how America’s food choices have become dangerous

Once known as the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history, Mike Tyson was a force to be reckoned with in the ring. At the age of 20, he showcased his incredible strength, skill, and talent by knocking off opponents in his signature explosive style.

Now, he has turned into a viral personality on social media. He often engages in shows and podcasts to share his knowledge and experience, and he has something terrifying to share in his latest one.

During a recent talk on The Secretary Kennedy Podcast, Tyson talked passionately about the average American's food choices. When asked what his message to America was, Tyson encouraged people to take better care of their bodies.

"Hey, have some pride and take care of yourself, man. Have some dignity and leave that ultra-processed food alone," he said.

The boxing legend sounded alarmed at the recent food habits of the majority of Americans, warning them against the impending health risks at bay.

Tyson candidly admitted how he was once in the same boat, relying heavily on ultra-processed food. He reveals how he once weighed nearly 350 pounds, his unhealthy habits fueling the decline of his physical and mental health.

“We've only got one body. And we have one chance to really indulge in it. So I wanted to be in the best shape possible," he said.

Eventually, he was able to overcome his struggle and decided to partner up with the MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) movement. Tyson didn't just warn people about the risks of an unhealthy diet. He also shared valuable advice for America on its food habits.

Mike Tyson Urges America to Opt for Healthier Habits

Tyson, who struggled with obesity and food addiction, warned Americans against falling for the ‘healthy food is expensive’ myth.

As someone who has personally gone through this difficult journey and made several mistakes along the way, viewers find him relatable and his honesty refreshing.

“The only way to go is real food,” Tyson said, talking about the consequences of eating “rotten food”, or super-processed food. He reveals how his friends, aged 48 and 50, died of cancer.

His shock was evident as he talked about how the youth of the country suffer the most from health issues and even death due to unhealthy habits.

“Have some pride and take care of yourself. Have some dignity and leave that ultra-processed food alone,” Tyson advised.

However, he admitted that it's not realistic to cut out unhealthy food entirely. He urged those who choose to still eat processed foods to eat them in moderation instead.
