Mr. Olympia Derek Lunsford’s Prediction Came True After Seahawks’ Super Bowl Win

In a remarkable crossover between the NFL and bodybuilding, the 2x Mr. Olympia, Derek Lunsford, accurately predicted the result of Super Bowl LX.
Lunsford recently joined Prime Time Muscle live with fellow Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, where host Terrick El-Guindy asked the bodybuilders to pick which team among the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks would win the Super Bowl.
Besides making the correct pick, Lunsford also predicted the scoreline of the SuperBowl finals almost perfectly. During the live, Lunsford said, "All right, Seahawks, 27 and Patriots, 13," while the game actually ended 29-13 in the Seahawks' favor.
Guindy's co-host and Brandon Curry, both chose the New England Patriots, and were mocked by him during the episode where he lauded Lunsford.
What was more interesting was that Lunsford’s prediction matched exactly with Mike Greenberg, who became the host of the Sunday NFL Countdown in August 2024. Guindy said, "In the NFL ESPN channel, they had all those experts, former NFL players, and the guy who nailed 27 to 13, just like Derek Lunsford, was Mike Greenberg”.
Subsequently, he highlighted how bodybuilding and football have been connected since long.
A Few Noted Bodybuilders Know Football First-Hand
Guindy highlighted the relation between football and bodybuilding highlighting how the bodybuilding legends, Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney played football in college.
He said, “Ronnie Coleman was a linebacker in college. And yes, Lee Haney discovered bodybuilding when he got hurt on the football field, and he went to rehab, and his body just exploded”.
Haney said, “You know what? I'm gonna give this a try”.
Coleman, the 8-time Mr. Olympia, played football at Grambling State University. He played for the Grambling State Tigers as a middle linebacker.
When it comes to Lee Haney, his dream was to follow the path of Jim Brown, the legendary footballer. Later in his life, he said, “Oh yes, in football. My dream was to become Jim Brown”. However, he ended up getting injured in junior high school and again in his senior year, which eventually turned him to bodybuilding
Guindy also said, “Every football player lifts weights. Every football player has hit a front double biceps. And every bodybuilder at some point tried some other athletics. We are now forever connected”.
So, do you know any other bodybuilders who are associated with football or any other sports?
