Niall Darwen gets backed to win Mr. Olympia Classic Physique for his "proportions and waist size"
Niall Darwen has caught the attention of a two-time Olympia champion, and the praise couldn't be much stronger.
Breon Ansley, who captured back-to-back Classic Physique Olympia titles in 2017 and 2018, recently gave massive praise to the young British standout during an interview shared by BTS TV. Ansley made clear he sees something special in Darwen's physique, calling it nearly unbeatable in its current form.
"I really like that guy, Niall from the UK," Ansley said. "When I see his physique, I'm like, how are you even gonna compete with that? His proportions and the waist size, it's like, wow."

Ansley's endorsement carries real weight given his own resume in the division, which also includes a 2019 Arnold Classic win and years as an Olympia contender following his back-to-back titles.
Ansley didn't stop at admiration. Talking on Beyond the Stage TV, he went further, predicting Darwen will eventually stand atop the Olympia stage as champion.
"He just fills out, you know, his frame a little bit more. It's remarkable. And that's probably why I'm also like, 'Oh, I'm happy to leave the Classic,' because when I see physiques like that, I'm like, 'How are you gonna compete with that?'” said Ansley. “He has a remarkable physique, and I see him definitely winning soon down the line."
Darwen has had a remarkable rise in his career, and this brand new endorsement is a testament to his status as a serious contender.
Niall Darwen's bodybuilding career through the years
Darwen, known online as "OnePunchNaz," has built one of the fastest rises in Classic Physique, now ranked among the top five in the world.
Before bodybuilding, Darwen cycled through roughly 18 different jobs, eventually spending three years as a personal trainer and fitness instructor.
His amateur career was dominant, with only a single second-place finish. Turning pro humbled him quickly, though, finishing last at his debut at the Arnold Classic UK in 2022, as per Olympus Heroes. This is a result he credits with stripping away his ego and forcing total commitment to the sport.
That reset paid off. Darwen is now a two-time Mr. Olympia competitor, placing fifth in Classic Physique at his most recent appearance. In May 2026, he won the New York Pro title despite battling a pre-show illness that left him unable to eat, drink, or sleep properly. One week later, he backed it up with a Pittsburgh Pro win over rival Diego Abdan.
Known for a minimalist, no-excuses approach, Darwen now splits time between the UK and Florida, targeting a top-three finish at the 2026 Mr. Olympia.
Do you think Niall Darwen can win a Classic Physique Olympia title within the next few years?
