Nick Walker Claims He Defeated Andrew Jacked and Derek Lunsford This Year

Bodybuilding competitions may finish in one day, but the aftereffects and the banter related to the night or competitors remain for quite some time. And such banter was recently shared by Nick Walker during his appearance on the Anything but Another bodybuilding podcast.

On Jun 29, the Instagram account for Muscle Discord shared a short clip from the podcast with the caption,

“Nick Walker thinks he beat @andrewjacked at the Arnold this year. And that he dominated and beat @dereklunsford_ at the Pittsburgh Pro last year. Do you agree? 🤔”

So, in the podcast, Walker was seen saying, “Andrew, I will say till I'm blue in the face. And no disrespect to Andrew because I love Andrew and he looks phenomenal, but I think I beat him. I think I beat Andrew, but Andrew looked really good. I wholeheartedly think I dominated Derek at that show.”

Jacked earned a $750,000 first-place prize at the 2026 Arnold Classic. However, Walker also delivered an intense onstage presentation and earned 2nd place.

Despite failing to earn 1st place, he drew the spotlight by winning the Franco Columbu Most Muscular Award, defeating an intense lineup that included Hadi Choopan and Martin Fitzwater.

Even fans praised his muscle density, freakish mass, and graininess in the back pose.

Now, talking about Pittsburgh Pro 2025, Walker also earned 2nd place behind Derek Lunsford.

However, what was more interesting was that after the 2nd round, Walker and Lunsford tied on the scoreboard. The posing between them was intense, but the judges ultimately went with Lunsford, and in that way Lunsford completed his quest for the triple crown: the Arnold Classic, Mr. Olympia, and Pittsburgh Pro.

So, talking about the 2 competitions where Walker had a full chance to win, he said, “So when I didn't, like, I literally I didn't get arrogant. But I was very confident going back to finals, like I'm gonna finish this real quick. And when they called me for a second, or him for however they did it. I don't really remember at this point. That was the first show.”

While the 2 competitions Walker mentioned did not go well, he has made some changes to his cardio for his next competition.

Nick Walker changed his cardio for 2026 Tampa Pro

According to Fitness Volt, on June 29, Walker posted the updated workout routine that he has adopted for the Tampa Pro 2026.

Walker said that he is currently at 8/10 mentally and 7/10 physically ahead of the Tampa, which will be held between July 30 and August 1, 2026.

He said, “But I think five weeks out, as a whole, I feel overall better than most preps. I think that is just due to, obviously, Prabh, who I just hired as a coach. You know, I’ve sent him pictures every single day, and I think once I have that true confidence in somebody. It takes the thinking away from me when I’m fully trusted and invested in somebody. I just follow the plan.

My body is getting better. We are starting to push a little bit in terms of a little extra cardio, obviously, being in a little bit of a stronger diet deficit, but this is part of the game”.

Walker also revealed that he had reduced his intense cardio routine, as before. He added, “We’re not doing any type of drastic cardio by any means. I’m not going balls to the wall like I normally would in prep. We are getting what we need out of the cardio while making sure we get the majority of work done through the diet, and very, very hard training, which I prefer.”
