Paul Walter Hauser suggests ways to lose weight quickly- "cutting back on soft drinks"

Financial freedom often leads people to sedentary lifestyles and bad eating habits, and it wasn't any different for actor Paul Walter Hauser. However, the 39-year-old recently detailed how he acted on time and shed about 100 lbs to live healthier.

Walter Hauser appeared on the April 22 episode of the Strong Talk podcast on the Men's Health YouTube channel. Amid other discussions, the Inside Out 2 actor used his own weight-loss journey to share the simple strategies that can help lose weight. He targeted losing all the excess weight and reaching a more manageable point first before a drastic weight transformation.

He said, "There are certain things that are common-sensical that, when you employ them, you can lose a lot of weight quickly. And that was, um, cutting back on soft drinks, cutting back on carbohydrates, a lot of portion control, and just, you know, getting back into like, 'Hey, at least I'm going to go to the gym even if I'm not killing it.'"

Hauser revealed that he had gained a significant amount of weight because of his constant consumption of junk food, drinking, substance abuse, and, predominantly, his mostly sedentary lifestyle. In fact, in his mid-20s, he weighed around 333 lbs, which was his peak weight.

It was around that time that Hauser decided to change his lifestyle, and his journey began with an initial target of getting back into the 200-lb weight class, which he approached through practical, everyday changes.

Hauser reached his first goal by reducing his weight to 285 lbs and then to 280 lbs. This motivated him to keep going, and around 2016, he joined the Orange Theory Fitness. Being around people who took fitness seriously helped him stay motivated and reach 260 lbs.

A minor speed bump in his fitness journey came when he had to gain weight to play the role of Shawn Eckhardt in the film I, Tonya. From 260 lbs, he reached 290lbs, the weight class he started from.

But the Black Bird star was smart enough to save his progress. He didn't abandon his routine completely. Instead, he cut down on the frequency.

Paul Walter Hauser's training and diet routine

The professional wrestler-turned-actor followed a very simple and direct training and dietary approach for his weight-loss journey. He started by doing the most basic thing, which is watching what he ate and hitting the gym 4 to 5 days a week. His routine included cardio, walking, and jogging.

In fact, during their conversation, Ebenezer Samuel, CSCS, even stated the positive effects of exercises like weightlifting can have on our physical and mental health.

"Lift something heavy, right? When you have like a 300-pound deadlift or a very big bench press, or you're trying for something, right? I think that cancels out the voices because you have to be in the moment."

His diet approach was mainly eliminating processed foods and implementing portion control. All he did was eat lean proteins like chicken, eggs, and whole foods.

So, what would you like to say about Walter Hauser's dedication that ultimately led to his transformation?
