"Peak of my body"- Ronda Rousey claims to have trained for over a year for Gina Carano
Ronda Rousey claimed she had trained for over a year ahead of her bout with Gina Carano. The former champion told TMZ Sports that a year of training has unlocked the best version of herself.
"I've been training for over a year, and we've had the most incredible camp ever, and you know, like it's going to be done after this," Rousey told TMZ Sports in the April 22 interview.
The May 16 Netflix event marks her first MMA appearance since 2016. "Now, I'm like, man, this is like the absolute peak of me mentally as a martial artist and absolute peak of my body," she said on TMZ's Open Mike.
"Being able to keep up with the speed of my mind, and this is like what you worked for your as your entire life as a martial artist to reach this pinnacle, and I'm finally hitting it," added Rousey.

With a professional record of 12-2-0, Ronda Rousey is among the pioneers of women's MMA. While she tried after back-to-back losses to Holly Holmes and Amanda Nunes, Rusey believes her skills have never been better.
"This is definitely the most dangerous I've ever been because what always set me apart as a martial artist is my technique and my IQ," explained Ronda Rousey.
The 39-year-old has been training under her former student, Ricky Lundell, and striking coach AJ Matthews, and ever since the fight was announced, she has been uploading her training videos on Instagram.
Why Ronda Rousey doesn't plan to return to MMA
During the same interview, Rousey dismissed any speculation about her bout with Gina Carano being the first of a possible comeback run.
"What I love more than this feeling and this training camp and this whole experience is having babies. I just love my family, and I love like my last baby girl," said the former UFC champion.
"I looked at her, and I was like, how I can't let this be my last one. This can't be the last time I experience this. I want to try for at least two more," Rousey clarified during the interview.
So while some optimistic fans may have hoped for Rousey making another run for MMA glory, the former WWE star seems to be focused on motherhood.
