At the 2026 Arnold Sports Festival, a fundraiser called “Real Weight for Real Heroes” united the fitness community and raised over $12,000.
Although the festival is known for big muscles, one event on March 6 aimed to do something more meaningful. A fundraiser was organised for Semper Fi & America's Fund, a non-profit organisation that helps wounded veterans and their families.
The program was hosted by enthusiastic personalities: powerlifter and MTS Nutrition CEO Marc Lobliner and James McGuire, owner of Warehouse Gym and Fitness. The goal of the program was to raise $10,000. But the whole-hearted fitness community pushed the mark and touched the $12,000 marker, and it's still counting.
According to SPECTRUM NEWS 1, Marc Lobliner has been coming to the Arnold Festival since 1999. He talked about people's perspective, “the fitness community, you think about it, you think about narcissism… just looking in the mirror, all self-absorbed.”

But he added, “The fitness community is the most giving, generous, proud community you will ever see.”
Not only that, the fundraiser presented a testimonial and shared Larry Draughn's story. Larry is a retired U.S. Marine Corps corporal from Dayton, and he lost both his legs in 2009 in Afghanistan. Draughn revealed that Semper Fi Fund has helped him and his family ever since.
He told “It’s good to know that people care.” Larry further explained, “There’s not enough thanks in the world that can be said for the men and women who sacrifice their life and limb every day.”
Events like this proved that the real strength is not just about lifting weights in the gym, but about lifting others.
In fact, philanthropy is something not new among bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts. The legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has been involved in similar meaningful causes.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s After-School All-Stars initiative
Arnold started After-School All-Stars in 1992. Since then, the initiative has grown to more than 18 chapters with 740 school-year sites and summer camps in 80 cities across the country, reaching nearly 150,000 students each year.
Speaking of the reason for creating this, Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “I founded After-School All-Stars because every kid deserves a real chance to succeed, no excuses”.
He added, “When you give students mentorship and opportunity, they rise to the challenge. I believe in results. With partners like Crypto.com stepping up, we can reach more students, open more doors, and build stronger communities across America”.
According to Business Wire, on March 2, 2026, Crypto.com announced a $1 million donation to After-School All-Stars as a result of its partnership with the Kings Care Foundation and the LA Kings.
The fitness community always believes in giving back, and initiatives like these are a testament to that spirit.
