His first suggestion is to get a good workout partner. According to Norris, this transformed the way he approached the gym.
“Actually, my wife, Gena, is my workout partner. I suggest you get a workout partner who will help you stay motivated,” he admitted.
His weekly schedule included:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
A short, quick 15-minute full-body workout in Total Gym, followed by a 2-mile walk or 30 minutes on an elliptical machine. He also did 10 minutes of crunches and finished with a short stretching session.
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Beginning with stretching, Norris performed isolated kicks in slow motion, followed by hand and foot combination strikes on a heavy bag.
When possible, he would also perform Jiu-Jitsu or sparring. He finished his routine by doing kicks in the pool, using the resistance of the water for cardio training with low impact.
Norris’ basic workout philosophy was focused on strength, mobility, speed, and flexibility, but most importantly, consistency. Which of his training habits would you be willing to try?
