Resurfaced Clip of Ronda Rousey’s Shadowboxing Skills Grabs Attention Ahead of Gina Carano Fight

Ronda Rousey is back in action. A resurfaced clip of her shadowboxing is making the rounds, igniting debate online as she reportedly prepares for a comeback fight against MMA pioneer Gina Carano.
The former UFC star is making her comeback against Gina Carano on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
Rousey announced her retirement from the UFC after a loss in the first round within 48 seconds. It was a TKO loss against Amanda Nunes. Her only losses in MMA came against elite strikers.
Her second-to-last bout also ended with Holly Holm earning the victory via second-round KO/TKO, exposing a weakness in her stand-up game.
Rousey's striking has often been criticized for noticeable technical flaws. While her hands move quickly, her head movement and footwork look very novice, and her punch throwing looks random.
During her appearance on the “MVP UNCUT: Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano | 8 Weeks Out,” Rousey sounded pretty confident with her current training camp, stating: “I’m definitely better than I’ve ever been.”
Regardless of whether or not Rousey’s striking ability is viewed as elite-level, she sure knows how to wrestle. The Olympic medalist is returning for some unfinished business.
Fans tear into Ronda Rousey’s viral shadowboxing clip as Gina Carano fight talk grows
The video has prompted a strong reaction from fans. A fan even went back to one of her old diss quotes from Cris Cyborg, simply stating, “The shadow won.”
Another fan couldn’t help but point out, “Her shoulders are facing a hard jerk back every time she throws her hands. Her shoulder might knock her out.”
From a more combat-based perspective, one fan even stated, “Should be an easy win for Gina if she keeps it standing.”
One fan's comment was particularly direct, stating, “That head to the side is everything.” Fans even went back to one of her old fighting stances when she was throwing punches, stating how her head was always leaning to one shoulder, even in mid-combo.
Finally, one fan summarized the clip's reception with a meme: “Wild that they'd even let that be recorded… Then let it be published… FAHHHhhHHH.”
