Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shares his first pull-ups after shoulder injury

The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy, set major fitness goals for netizens on social media just a day ago.

At 72, Kennedy was seen doing pull-ups after recovering from rotator cuff surgery, which happened in March this year. The Health Secretary is well known for turning workouts into public moments throughout his tenure. However, he was vocal about approaching the bar with caution.

"This is the first time I will try pull-ups in four months after my shoulder surgery; I hope nothing pops," Kennedy told the crowd before stepping up. He worked through roughly ten reps as onlookers applauded, closing out the comeback attempt without incident.

Kennedy is well known for performing high-profile fitness stunts for his age. He was also featured when he did a pull-up face-off with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy at Reagan National Airport.

Another similar incident that went viral was a shirtless workout session of Kennedy with Kid Rock.

According to the doctors who operated on him, his shoulder problem was probably worsened by this level of physical activity because it takes him four to six months to heal from a full-strength injury.

Robert F Kennedy Jr Highlights Key Health Wins in First Year Leading HHS

At 72 years old, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has managed to create one of the most enviable physiques among American public figures thanks to his workout regimen, which he claims has not changed over the past 50 years.

His daily exercise regimen involves a three-mile walk done on an empty stomach – 1.5 miles up and another 1.5 back down before eating anything.

"I've been exercising for 50 years. It is sustainable if I do just short periods," Kennedy said per AOL, describing 35-minute gym sessions split across four days: back, chest, legs, and a miscellaneous day covering arms and calisthenics.

This individual works out at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach, performing all his first sets to failure at 12 reps before moving on to strip sets to push beyond exhaustion.

In addition, he has defeated the Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, in an informal pull-up challenge at an airport.
